RESTORATION // Skinner and Aeolian-Skinner Stop-Action Boxes
- Disassembly and cleaning, exterior surfaces re-shellacked.
- All original hardware is cleaned in a basket bead blaster and finished in a lacquer wash.
- New pouches, valves, springs, valve wires, nuts and felts are provided.
- All magnets are taken apart and cleaned. Where necessary, new gaskets are applied and armatures releathered or replaced.
- Bungs are regasketed. A new felt-and-leather pillow gasket is fitted to the box top joint.
- Any cracks are sealed; screw holes are dowel-nutted.
